Development of Online Training Modules for Training of Edible Oil Millers and Field Staff from Provincial Food Authorities on Edible Oil Fortification and Quality Assurance and Quality Control

Objective:

Development of Online Training Modules for Training of Edible Oil Millers and Field Staff from Provincial Food Authorities on Edible Oil Fortification and Quality Assurance and Quality Control

About Project
This project addresses the critical issue of malnutrition in Pakistan, where women and children suffer from high rates of vitamin A and D deficiencies, leading to severe health consequences. Nutrition International (NI) is working to mitigate these deficiencies by supporting large-scale food fortification initiatives, particularly focusing on fortifying edible oils with essential vitamins. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic limiting in-person interactions, the project will convert existing training materials into e-training modules to continue building the capacity of oil millers and provincial food authorities. This initiative is part of a broader effort to institutionalize and sustain oil fortification practices across Pakistan. The project is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and aims to ensure that vulnerable populations receive the necessary micronutrients for better health outcomes.

These efforts aim to equip key stakeholders with the knowledge needed to uphold high fortification standards across the country.
