About Project
Save The Future (STF) national NGO and ActionAid Pakistan are collaborating to empower marginalized women in District Bagh, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, by enhancing their agricultural production and micro-enterprise capacities. This initiative includes providing capacity-building packages, improving market access, and organizing women into producer organizations.
The project aims to integrate these women into the economic mainstream through better market access and sustainable livelihoods. An extensive market assessment and value chain analysis will be conducted to evaluate government priorities and resource allocation for women’s economic empowerment. The study will involve field surveys, stakeholder interviews, and market analysis to understand local market dynamics and propose strategies for improving livelihoods.

Services Provided:

Momentum conducted a comprehensive mapping exercise of organizations focused on women’s economic empowerment in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). This pioneering effort aimed to collate and analyze data on organizations working in this field, providing valuable insights into the landscape of women’s economic empowerment in the region. The study was designed to offer a detailed overview of active organizations and their contributions, setting the stage for informed decision-making and strategic planning.

  1. Desk Review and Preparation:
    • Conducted an initial desk review to identify existing reports, studies, and data related to women’s economic empowerment in AJK.
    • Developed a research framework and methodology for the mapping exercise.
  2. Identification of Key Organizations:
    • Compiled a list of organizations involved in women’s economic empowerment within AJK, including non-profits, governmental bodies, and private sector entities.
    • Utilized various sources such as local directories, online resources, and stakeholder recommendations.
  3. Data Collection:
    • Conducted field surveys to gather information on each organization’s activities, focus areas, target beneficiaries, and impact.
    • Engaged in interviews with key representatives from identified organizations to obtain detailed insights.
  4. Data Analysis and Collation:
    • Analyzed the collected data to categorize organizations based on their roles, scope, and effectiveness.
    • Created a comprehensive database detailing the organizations’ contributions to women’s economic empowerment.
  5. Reporting:
    • Compiled findings into a detailed report, highlighting key organizations, their activities, and gaps in the current landscape.
    • Provided recommendations for improving coordination and enhancing the impact of women’s economic empowerment initiatives.

The mapping exercise by Momentum has provided a foundational understanding of the organizations working towards women’s20 economic empowerment in AJK. This data will support strategic planning, enhance coordination among stakeholders, and inform future initiatives aimed at improving the economic status of women in the region.
