Since 2004, the Danish Red Cross (DRC) has partnered with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to deliver emergency relief, rehabilitation, and resilience-building support aimed at improving the socioeconomic development of vulnerable communities. The Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) Program, active in Union Council Sarli Sacha, Muzaffarabad District, AJK, focuses on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health (MNCH), and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). The program is expected to benefit 17,077 people by enhancing health and safety, building resilience, and providing essential services in collaboration with local institutions.

Services Provided:

Momentum conceived and developed training program comprising of 5 days for conducting training of the community volunteers for Light Search, Rescue and First Aid. This has been a long-term training agreement spanning across a period of 6 months.  During this tenure 24 training events were conducted across Kashmir.
Momentum conceived and developed a comprehensive 5-day training program for community volunteers, focusing on Light Search, Rescue, and First Aid. This program, part of a six-month long-term agreement, included the following key steps:

  • Training Program Design: Created a detailed curriculum for First Aid (FA) and Light Search and Rescue (LS&R) tailored to community needs.
  • Conceptual Understanding: Ensured participants developed a solid grasp of FA and LS&R principles.
  • Skill Acquisition: Emphasized the importance of acquiring practical knowledge and techniques in FA and LS&R.
  • Application of Skills: Trained participants to effectively apply their knowledge and skills during emergency situations.
  • Implementation: Conducted 24 training events across Kashmir, enhancing the preparedness and response capabilities of community volunteers.
  • Reporting: Provided comprehensive reports detailing training outcomes, participant feedback, and recommendations for further improvements.
